Brakes check
Answer: Brakes shouldn’t feel spongy/slack; test them as you set off; car shouldn’t pull to one side.
Tyre pressure
Answer: Check the manufacturer’s guide; use a reliable gauge; check when cold; include the spare; refit valve caps.
Head restraint
Answer: Rigid part should be at least as high as eyes or top of ears and close to back of head.
Tyre tread
Answer: No cuts or bulges; tread depth at least 1.6?mm across central three-quarters and around the tyre.
Lights check
Answer: Operate switch (ignition on if needed) and walk round to check headlights and tail lights.
ABS warning
Answer: ABS warning light will illuminate if there’s a fault.
Indicators
Answer: Operate switch and walk around car to check direction indicators.
Brake lights
Answer: Operate brake pedal; use reflections or ask someone to help.

Answer: Show how to wash and clean the rear windscreen safely.
Front windscreen
Answer: Show how to wash and clean the front windscreen safely.
Dipped headlights
Answer: Show how to switch on dipped headlights safely.
Rear demister
Answer: Show how to set the rear demister safely.
Horn
Answer: Show how to operate the horn safely.
Front demist
Answer: Show how to demist the front windscreen safely.
Side window
Answer: Show how to open and close a side window safely.
